River fishing report |
Saturday 26th Sept 09 |
Mr B. fished the river this week and gave us this report on his day's fishing. He fished the peg after the electric cables and caught Chub to 1lb 8oz, Roach to 1lb, Dace to 12oz and the odd Gudgeon, lots of small Roach about 2ins long. Mr B. caught approx 15lb of fish in total. He lost a Pike approx 8lb which took a Dace from his hook. |

New record catch at Birkwood |
10th May 2009 |
John Crampton of Rothwell AC created a new record at Birkwood Fisheries. Fishing on the Main Lake on sunday 10th May 2009 caught 116lbs 7oz in a 5 hour match from peg 15 on pole and pellet. Well done John. Dick pp Birkwood Fisheries |

Both the river and canal are now open for fishing. For the canal drive down the lane following the road to the river. When you cross the canal bridge park straight on and the pegs are on the left hand side of the lane (very sheltered). |
